The January 2010 meeting AHS will be held on the 28th at Raya's Resturant on Rt. 12 in Gales Ferry. Forces beyond our control have taken the Groton library from AHS on the fourth Thursday of the mounth. Deciding on a new location (and possibly a new day of the month) will be the topic of this meeting.

Even with the seasonably cold and blustery winds, twelve people without any need to have their morals dictated to them turned up and celebrated the upcoming winter solstice for 2009. Many brought canned and dry goods to be donated to a local food pantry; details to follow. The leftover rasberry filled cake was donated to the library staff.

Join us at the Groton Library, starting at 7 PM to share in our celebration of the upcoming winter solstice! Also, prominant atheist Isaac Asimov's birthday is January 2. We will be collecting canned goods at the meeting to be donated to an area homeless shelter; come one, come all and bring a friend!

On Sunday September 13, 2009 AHS members and their spouses took part in a walk at Rentschler Field, East Hartford raising $250 to fund research towards the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. Taking part in Team AHS was team captain and AHS president Carlos Mojica, Webmaster Jason Deeble, Secretary Vic Marquis, and member Myrna Medina.
